Business teams. Beginner: no AI experience needed.

Programme

This agenda is indicative. Content, sequencing, and examples are adapted to your team's context, tools, and objectives.

Before you start

  • A laptop with access to at least one approved AI assistant (the company’s chosen tool)
  • A work email account
  • 2–3 real everyday tasks to practise on (an email to write, a document to summarise)
  • No prior AI experience required
19:00–9:45What AI is (and isn’t): The “confident intern” mental model: what today’s assistants are genuinely good and bad at.
Hands-onEveryone runs the same simple prompt and compares results, seeing the strengths and limits first-hand.
29:45–10:30Your company’s AI policy: Approved tools, data rules, shadow-AI risk, GDPR and EU AI Act basicsNo formal policy yet? The day installs a baseline rule-set that doubles as your policy draft.
Hands-onParticipants sort real scenarios into “OK / not OK / ask first” against the policy (or the baseline rule-set).
10:30–10:45 · ☕ Coffee break
310:45–12:30Hands-on: AI for your daily work: Writing, research, analysis and communication, using whatever assistant the company runs.
Hands-onEach participant completes three real tasks from their own inbox and saves the prompts that worked.
12:30–13:30 · 🍽 Lunch break
413:30–15:00Prompting that works: Role, context, task, format, constraints: the anatomy of a reliable prompt.
Hands-onBuild a personal 10-prompt library for your recurring tasks and test each one.
515:00–15:30When AI is wrong: Five failure modes: hallucination, bias, staleness, over-confidence, missing context.
Hands-onEvaluate five outputs (some flawed), catch the errors, and lock in the verification habit.
15:30–15:45 · ☕ Coffee break
615:45–17:00Your AI toolkit: Turning the day into a habit you keep tomorrow.
Hands-onWrite a 3-task action plan and a quick-start cheat-sheet (built from your prompt library) you’ll use the next morning.

Deliverables

  • 10-prompt personal library
  • 3-task action plan
  • AI output evaluation checklist
  • Quick-start cheat-sheet
